May 31 Merrick County 150th Anniversary Trail Ride Near Central City, NE

 The trail will start at the Lone Tree Monument (2 miles SW of Central City, NE) and travel on the road for approx. 12 miles to Bader Park (Chapman, NE). There will be wagons included along this trail and historical information provided by our local historians. At the halfway point, lunch will be served in the "old fashioned" way. Bring your horse, cart, harness, helmets, family and friends. We will hitch at 1 pm, drive and play until 5 pm and then have potluck (grill will be hot). We will have the large fenced arena and pastures setup with cones, barrels, and poles. Experienced drivers will be available to express opinions on harness fit, equipment, and training ideas. No formal lessons or talks, just fun. Spectators welcomed. . This will be the 3rd year we have put this on. This year the O-MOK-SEE will be back at Christensen Field. June 20 Honey Do Competitive Trail Ride Honey Creek Conservation Area, Filmore, MO

15 miles ride on both Saturday and Sunday with vet in on Friday afternoon. Mini Clinics to include Natural balanced barefoot trimmers and Len Brown the man that originally invented the Ortho Flex saddle is going to do a talk on saddle fit and distance riding. Ride one or both days but to get grand champ for the weekend you have to ride both days. MOTDRA rules will apply. You can attend the clinics and not do the rides for a $10.00 fee. Or you can volunteer to be a helper during the ride and attend the clinics free.
